My company uses MS EPM Solution with Project Server 2003 SharePoint Services
over AD integration accounts and the client of e-mail is the MS Outlook. I
have implemented the use of Project Web Access to my team track yours
timesheet relative to projects created in MS Project Professional by project
managers. I know that is possible create Administrative Projects to resources
appoint time spend on nonproject tasks, but this tasks are static such
meetings, training, vacation, sick time and others. I also know that exists
the to-do lists, but they doesn’t compute time spent on each activity just
the % of complete.
In my tests with MS Outlook Plugin the creation task process is unique, from
MS Project (or PWA) to Outlook, i.e. the tasks are imported from Project to
Outlook if timesheet users export assignments to the Outlook Calendar – only
tasks updates are exported from Outlook to Project. However, by default I
don’t see anyway to create tasks in Outlook interface and export these tasks
to MS Project Server (administrative or normal projects).
There is anyway to create tasks in Outlook and export these tasks to Project
Server? If not, someone can indicate another third-party external timesheet
that can integrate with a Project Server to maintain assignments in
administrative, to-do lists or normal projects?
Thanks
