Timesheet creation failed error

When I try to create a timesheet I get an error message "The timesheet
creation failed, because of problems with the project server or with
data validations, such as resources not being valid work resources or
users. Check your environment, and then try again". If I click OK the
timesheet creation status says "In progress" and if I click the
timesheet it is actually blank with no task lines. I do not see any
other error in the Manage Queue either.

Can someone please help? I have gone through Michael Wharton's post
about back dating the Finish dates for Completed tasks prior to the
Timesheet start date but still no resolution.

Once I have seen somthing like this and it appeared to be related to custom
fields:

Cause: SQL Profiler trace discovered that issue was related to task
assignments with multiple items selected in various custom fields, the fields
in question were multivalue text lookup tables and the problem only occured
on those fields with 'roll-down for assignments' enabled.

Resolution: Disabling 'roll-down' for custom resource fields with multiple
text values resolved the issue.

Not for sure that this is your problem too, but worth to check it out.

hope it helps

I have disabled roll-down for all the custom resource fields but still get
the same error. Anything else that I need to look into?

Thanks

You don't provide enough information here for anyone to begin to answer.
You're posting through Egghead Café to a USENET newsgroup hosted on the
Microsoft servers. Most of the pros here use newsreaders connected directly
to the Microsoft servers that hold only 30 days of history. If you take time
to write a decent post, you might get an answer. See the following for
guidance on how to do this:
