Timesheet Database Workflow

Hi All

I am new to this group.
But i have been looking at this for a long time.

I have done a few customizations for Project Server 2003 for some
organizations.
I would like to share my ideas here.

At present, I need some help from you guys.
Does anyone has any links on the database workflow of the timesheet
system in Project server 2003. (i.e. what are all the tables being
accessed to store the timesheet data. I went through the pjsvrdb.htm
and pjdb.htm documents, but with less details about the workflow. I
have made some logical conclusions about the flow based on the feedback
in the groups and the documents provided by msft and profiler. But i am
not confident on those conclusions. One such incident which warned me
is that, i have been thinking that for each assignment in
MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS, there will be atleast one transaction record in
the MSP_WEB_TRANSACTIONS table, to maintain the status of the
assignment. But in the current project which i am working on, i have a
database wherein i have 1,50,000 distinct assignments but only 15,000
distinct transactions.)

If anyone has already researched into the timesheet system of Project
Server 2003, please let me know your findings about what happens when
(in terms of DB records)

1) user submits time in timesheet grid of tasks page in PWA
2) Is the DB storage dependent on any global settings.
3) What happens when the project manager approves the time using update
link in PWA
4) What if a resource manager is there to approve the time submitted by
the resource.

Any help is greatly appreciated

regards
Sudhakar
