Timesheet delays

D

David

We are facing a problem of delay of resources in filling timesheets in our
organization. The management has suggested to have an automated email from
the Project Server sent to any consultant & the concerned manager that does
not fill in his/her time sheet on a weekly basis.
Pls advise if this is possible using the Project Server?

Regards,

David.

Each of your project managers should do the following:

1. Log into PWA
2. Click the "Alert me about my resources on tasks and status reports" link
in the sidepane on the Home page
3. Select the "Alert resources when their tasks are 1 day overdue" option
4. Select the "e-mail me and my resources" option in that section
5. Click the Save Changes button

Beyond the automated solution above, I believe your problem is primarily a
training and performance issue. If you require that your team members
submit a timesheet update every week, you must both train them how you want
them to do it, AND you must hold them accountable for this behavior. If
people aren't submitting their timesheet information each week, I doubt that
an e-mail will force them to do it. They will simply click Delete when they
get e-mails from Project Server. On the other hand, if their failure to do
so will become an issue at their next performance review, and possible cost
them the loss of income or even their job, then they will be more likely to
comply. Hope this helps.

This is not possible using out-of-the-box features, but very doable with
some custom work. The solution Dale suggested is as close as you can come,
but will only alert resources when tasks are overdue, not when their
timesheets are overdue.

We require alert (email notifications) on the weekly timesheets overdue! Does
anyone have any idea what is the custom work which has to be done?

David.

David:

We've built this for clients, and I'm sure other Project partners have and
can as well. I don't think that you'll get anyone simply give their code to
you. Essentially, you can query the database to determine who hasn't
submitted timesheets and then use SQL mail or another way to generate the
email.
