Timesheet expands all tasks on "Save Changes"

In PWA, I added the ID field to the Timesheet View and added the ID field to
"Customize Published Fields" in MS-Project Professional and did a Republish
All to push the field out. The goal was to to see this field in the Updates
Tab, and it works great.

However, all my users now find that the Timesheet view expands and displays
all tasks when they click "Save Changes" or "Update All".

I removed the ID field, and even did a "Republish All" without the ID field
for a project, but this problem remains. Any guidance is most deeply
appreciated.

Which service pack are you running? Have you applied the same SP's to the SQL
database, WSS and Project Server? I once had a similar problem that was
caused by different SP versions.

Hope this helps.

Marc,

We are running Project Server 2003 SP1, WSS is also at SP1, and SQL Server
2000 at SP3.

I have another environment running SP2a, but that has the same issue when I
access it. For other users, oddly, SP2a shows the timesheet staying
collapsed. It seems to be user dependent, although all users seem to be all
on the same versions of all Microsoft software.

Thoughts?

All,

I found the solution, and just wanted to share it with the community.

When the "Timesheet" view is altered in PWA Admin, all user settings are
reset. The solution is simply for each user to select their preferred
settings again. In this case, selecting View Options, Show: Outline Level 1
restored the desired behavior.

A word to the wise when editing this Timesheet view; prepare your user
community that their Task view will lose current settings and need to be
customized by the user again.

Warm regards,

Joel
