Timesheet inconsistencies

Steve

I'm passing this question along from a colleague. any help would be greatly
appreciated.

This question pertains to PROJECT CENTRAL and PPRo 2002
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have a team that has a discrepancy in the # of hours reported for a
resource. Can you possibly shed some light on the issue and how to correct?

My understanding is a Project Central Workplan does not reconcile with an
end user's own worksheet - i.e. her hours are mis-reported. It is like she
posted extra time to the work plan and then removed it from her own
reporting, but the work plan was not updated with the changes (hours
removed).

Do you have any thoughts on how this could happen and what can be done to
fix the discrepancy?

Steve --

In Project Server 2002, after the PM updates progress into the Microsoft
Project plan from the Updates page in PWA, he/she must click Collaborate -
Publish - All Information to "synch up" the information between the
Microsoft Project plan and PWA. If he/she fails to do so, the information
will be "out of synch" between the two applications. If the PM manually
enters progress in the Microsoft Project plan, he/she must click
Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments, select the "Overwrite actual
work entered by resources" option, and then click OK. This will "push" the
actuals from the Microsoft Project plan to each user's timesheet in PWA. Do
either of these explain the differences you see? Let us know.

Dale,

Republishing the plan was the direction I was heading with as well. I'll
pass this along and let you know what we find.

Thanks!!!
