Hello,

In the Edit Resource page (PWA 2007) what are the differences between
Timesheet Manager & Assignment Owner?
Thanks for your help

Hi Robert,
Directly from the help in PWA...

If the user has a timesheet manager, in the Timesheet Manager box, type or
search for the manager's name.

In the Default Assignment Owner box, type or search for the assignment
owner's (assignment owner: An enterprise resource who is responsible for
entering progress information in Project Web Access. This person can be
different than the person initially assigned to the task.) name.

So, the timesheet manager is often the resource's line manger.

The Timesheet Manager is the person who receives and approves a resource's
PWA Timesheets. The Timesheet Manager can be the resource's line manager,
project manager, or resource manager. If you want a resource to approve
his/her own Timesheets, then enter the resource's own name in this field.

The Assignment Owner field determines who sees the tasks assigned to the
resource on the My Tasks page in PWA. Normally, the resource should see
his/her own tasks, so you would want to specify the resource as his/her own
Assignment Manager. If you fail to do so, you create a "world of pain" for
your project managers, as the PM will end up seeing all of the resource's
assignments on his/her own (PM's) My Tasks page. Therefore, you should
DEFINITELY set a value in this field for every resource in the system.

In some organizations a designated resource, such as a Team Leader, is
responsible for updating and submitting progress on tasks assigned to
resources that he/she manages. In cases like this, enter the name of the
Team Leader in the Assignment Owner field for the resource. Hope this
helps.
