Timesheet managers - one of a group approving timesheets

Hi

Is it possible to configure a situation where, for example, any member
of the Project Office can approve timesheets as timesheet manager?
Holidays, jury service, training etc.
In PS 2003 this would have been handled with Project Server
Authentication and maybe a seperate project - is there a way to do
something similar using the new 2007 timesheet facilities without
configuring forms authentication which I understand is quite difficult
to set up.

Thanks

Brian

Change the TS manager of the resource who is absent to the person you want to
perform this function.

Hi Brian,

unfortunatly you cant assign a team of approvers in 07. The best option if
someone goes on holiday is probably what Paul suggested, which is cumbersome
to say at least, especially if the resource has many timesheets to approve :(

The Project Experts have created an FAQ which allows you to set a chain of
timesheet managers. I am not suggesting that this be your solution, but at
least you may be able to take some ideas of how to handle timesheet
management. Check out this link:
http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/Set Up Timesheet Approval Chain of Managers.htm

I hope this helps

Many thanks Paul/Marc

So would Pauls suggestion work retrospectively when a timesheet has
already been submitted for approval to someone who is then not
available to approve?

I dont think so, since the workflow already notified the original timesheet
manager, but what the user can do after you changed the TM manager is recall
the timesheet and then submit it again. I believe ( but you need to double
check ) then it will go to the new TM Manager
Let me know how you go.
