Timesheet managers

Elsa L.

Hi,
I have installed PS2007. I am playing with Timesheet approvals. I set CEO1
belonging to the group of Administrators and ResourceManagers (default groups
created in PS2007). When I edit user User1 and try to set his Timesheet
Manager as CEO1 I get the error: "The timesheet manager is not a valid
choice".
Can anyone please tell me what I am missing please?
As well if CEO1 click on the option menu Approvals-> Timesheets (which is
there) he gets: "You do not have sufficient permissions to view the specified
page. Please contact your administrator for permissions to view this page."
Thank you in advance
Elsa

Assuming no one has accidentally changed the out of the box permissions and
you haven't accidentally set denies on the user level then what you
described should not happen. Can you verify again that those two things did
not happen?

Hi found the problem!!!! The problem was with the global permissions, I
noticed that I had a red cross near the Accept Timesheets option in Global
Permissions List. So problaly during migration from PS2003 that setting came
across because I don't remember setting it. So to change this I went to
Server Settings -> Project Web Acces Permissions and checked the unchecked
boxes (in my case only the ones related with Timesheets where not checked).
Et voilas, now I can assign the Ressource manager to my users without getting
the error "The timesheet manager is not a valid choice" :)

Great, thanks for sharing. That is one of the nice new features of 2007
that shows you when you have a permission denied at the top level when
viewing user/group permissions.
