We are using "Hours of work done per day or per week" reporting method. When
resource update their actual work done by day in time sheet. They can put
more hours than planed which is reasonable. The problem is while project
manager approve the update he has no ideal whether the input hour is
different from planned. Do any one know how to add an column which can help
identify the difference between plan and actual while approve the update from
resource?

Thanks,

hi Ed,

In the task approvals, the project manager can add the line 'Show Scheduled
Work' from the view options. However as Work gets replaced with actuals, you
can only indentify wheter the resource has NOT performed work on days he/she
was planned. To have a little insight what reported hours will do with your
schedule, the project manager can use the 'preview' feature to see if the new
estimated enddates for these tasks are shifting (in gantt view)

Hope this helps

Hi Sander,

Appreciate your reply. I found an alternative way to display baseline work
while approve hours from resources.
1. Open project in Project Pro/Tools/Customize/Publish fields/Select
"baseline work"
2. Collaborate/Publish/Republish Assignment
After that I can see Baseline Work in PWA/Updates while approve hours from
resources. However, the baseline work sit on the last column every time when
I open Update in PWA I have to scroll to the right in order to see it. Does
anyone have idea for how to modify the view for "Update" in PWA?

Thanks,
ED
