Timesheet

Here's my situation: 65 member engineering firm
incorporating Project 2003. I have the timesheet
tracking and gathering data for all jobs just fine. My
problem is this: how do I track time for non job related
tasks like clerical, overhead, staff, training,
vacations, etc?

Also, my accounting director wants all timesheet
information exported for use in a third party
accounting/payroll program (Semi4), but the fields that
he needs are VERY specific and there are about 11 or 12
of them. Where is this info stored and how can I
organize and extract it for export?

I have searched and searched for this information or more
details on the timesheet, but I have come up empty. Any
help is greatly appreciated.

BTW, I am an experienced Project user, but this timesheet
business is new to me.

Galley,

Try looking at WorkAlerts! for MS-Project at www.workalerts.com. It sounds
like a good fit for what you are wanting to do. It essentially looks at the
entire MS-Project database. You can pull whatever information you need out
of it (all point and click). It connects to any database format (not just

MS-Project) and it has automation capabilities. What this means is that you
can easily extract information from MS-Project and load it into your
accounting db easily.

WorkAlerts advertises notification, but it is also a very powerful
automation tool for MS-Project.

Locate the file projdb.htm in the help directory of your server's hard drive
where Project Server is installed or on your installation CD. This document
contains the data dictionary for the SQL tables which is the information
you'll need to create your exports.
