Timesheets - not able to enter data (2003)

Under view my tasks while in PS2003, the dates show blank areas for
actual work. When I try to place in work for say 7/10, it doesn't take
the numbers. However I can fill in actual work on the task side (no
dates- just a single entry for the entire task).

How do I enter daily times?

Karen,

There are 3 time tracking methods allowed in Project Server 2003. It sounds
like the project you are working on is set to time tracking method 2 below:

1) Percent of work complete: Resources report the percent of work complete,
between 0 and 100%
2) Actual work done and work remaining: Resources report the actual work
done and the work remaining to be done on each task
3) Hours of work done per day or per week: Resources report the hours worked
on each task during each time period

I believe you are looking to enter time using option 3 per day. The time
reporting method is either controlled by the administrator at a global level
or the option can be given to the project manager to specify their own
tracking method for each of their projects through Tools>Customize>Published
Fields...

If the tracking options settings are grayed out in that location then the
administrator has disabled the ability for the PM to choose their own
tracking method.

Thanks, I found it. Question tho. I'm an administrator so how do I
undo the selection?

Karen,

You need to change the setting under "Admin>Customize Project Web
Access>Tacking settings" to default to option 3. You also stipulate whether
PMs can change the tracking method on a project by project basis on this
page.

Then each project has to do a re-publish assignments for the changes to take
effect.
