timesheets & task updates & alarms and reminders

Hi;
1)i am using msp server 2007 as an administrator.i'd want my resources to
enter their work in timesheets as hours and minutes for example 3:45 or
3h,45min(minutes is important for me).plz tell me how can i set this?now i
understand that i can enter work just as hours OR minutes for ex: 3h or
180min.is it true?
2)is it neccessary to install outlook add-in for alarms and reminders?my
organisation cant use outlook because of security!plz tell me the usage of
outlook in msp server?
3)can i update my projects just by my resources timesheets without need to
import tasks to timesheets and submit them by my resources?

1. They can enter their hours in the My Timesheet page using decimal
fractions, such as .25, .50, .75. They can also enter their hours in
minutes, such as 30m, 80m, etc. When they click the recalculate button, the
system will convert the minutes into hours automatically.

2. No, you don't need to use the Outlook addin if your organization does
not use the Outlook application for e-mail. However, you do need to specify
the correct SMTP server on the Alerts and Reminders page in PWA (Server
Settings - Alerts and Reminders). Have you done that? You must also set
your SMTP server to relay e-mail messages from Project Server.

3. No, to update projects your team members must either manually enter task
progress in the My Tasks page, or import the progress from the My Timesheet
page, and then submit the progress to you.
