Timestamp changes in "Received" column

When an email is copied from one folder to another, the timestamp in the
"received" column changes to the date/time the copy was performed. This
happens when using right-click and drag or "edit" "copy to folder." This is
Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP machine in an Exchange environment
