Timezone change on boot - but there wasn't any!

Client: Outlook 2k7
Patches that may affect this: DST changes for West Australia patch
applied.

Problem:
Whenever I start Outlook 2k7 after either logging out of windows or
shutting down, it starts and issues an alert that there's been a
change of Timezone to +8:00 Perth time (however, Perth is currently
still running under DST until the 24th of March). It then attempts to
update my calendar for every single appointment since .

I have a feeling this problem will sort itself out on the 24th of
March, or at least stop getting worse. Can anyone suggest ways around
this, or ways to disable this "feature" of Outlook, while still
maintaining the correct time for all the appointments that I've
entered already?

** sigh ** I wish there was an edit button. Correction, these have
been happening since appointments dated the 16th of February.
