how do I "time" a project I typed for a client?
I need to submit my "time" in order to get paid!

When you have completed your Word document, select the
File menu, choose Properties, select the Statistics tab
and you will see the Total Editing Time for the document.
However, if you leave the document open and pop to the
shops, it will still record this time. Hope this helps...

Although the Total Editing Time statistic can be helpful when used
correctly, note that the clock not only keeps running as long as the file is
open but also doesn't start until you save and name the doc (well, it does
run, but it resets to zero when you first save). This should be incentive to
save the doc as soon as you create it!

I work by the hour, and I find it easiest, given the number of interruptions
I have, to use a digital kitchen timer with a "count up" or stopwatch
feature. These are readily available at stores such as Wal-Mart and often
feature up to four countdown timers (and a clock), but the count-up one is
the only one you need. The best ones have the advantage that if you forget
to restart the timer, you can add in seconds, minutes, or hours without
causing the timer to start counting down.

The ones I have, though they have the brand name "Time Check," are identical
to the Pyrex one shown at
