Timing of recurring events

When I set up a recurring event, all the subsequent events are being put into my calendar for 1 hour later than the original event, so for example the first event will be created to start at 8am, i check off the recurring event tab for weekly, or every Monday, and then on every subsequent Monday the event is posted to begin at 9am. Any ideas on how to fix this?
