First of all, I can't state enough how much i detest this new version of office- the problems are too numerous to state and it makes it extremely difficult for me to work efficiently. I am more than tempted to go back to my old G4 and office 2005.

The problem about which I write today is this:

I have a 13 Macbook, 2.2 GHz, and much of the time I use an external monitor. However, when I use the laptop without the monitor, my word documents only open up in 2x2" boxes which I cannot figure out how to enlarge- I try dragging the corner with no luck, clicking on the plus circle (which makes the window jump to the upper left of the screen), I've looked in preferences. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am completely unable to use my computer without a monitor, which sort of defeats the purpose of a laptop!

On a different topic but still with word, the program doesn't let me double click on words to highlight and delete them- any idea what to do about that?

Yes, we all know about that one. It's a known bug.

If you make sure that you log off before removing the external monitor, it
will happen "less".

But currently, Word 2008 is not compatible with Spaces in OS 10.5, so you
will get these problems. We are waiting on a fix.

I don't think anyone has even found a good work-around to that one. The
issue is that Word is trying to remember the size and position of each
document when you close it. If you then re-open it and the screen is a
different size, bad things happen.
