TIP tool does not show up on someOne Note pages.

Sometimes when I start a new One Note page the TIP tool will not show
up when I write in the title field at the top of a page. It will show
up it I write elsewhere on the page, but not in the title field. Does
anyone have any ideas what would cause this?

Which version of OneNote are you using, and which Tablet PC are you on with
which version software installed?

I'm writing on my desktop right now, and cannot tell you exactly which
setting it is, but under Tools | Options one of the setting groups has a
setting that says something like "Show TIP on pages". What is that set to?

Does the TIP itself appear when you tap in the title field of a page and
tap on the TIP button on the bottom of the screen?

I use a Toshiba M200 Tablet. I have One Note 2003. This problem only
happens on some pages and only in the page title field.

I have the "show TIP on pages" option checked off. The TIP will show
for some title fields on some pages but not all. If I click the TIP
icon on the taskbar the TIP option does open at the bottom of the
screen.

Sorry, I missed your response until just today. Seems like a quirk within
OneNote itself, which might be fixed if you use a Detect and Repair... from
the Help menu drop-down. The tagging of content, wherein the input area
identifies itself to the Tablet Input Panel as an area for input with the
pen - thus invoking the TIP functions - is somehow disconnected in certain
areas.

As for the TIP launching, that basic functionality is controlled in
Tools/Options/Handwriting, third item down, "Show Tablet PC Input Panel on
OneNote pages." Without a check mark there, the input will be in Ink
entirely. Personally, I just write (Ink) the title field information with
the pen rather than trying to convert from Ink to text.
