title bar and toolbar missing on Word 2000. How to get them back?

After 5 years, this problem has come up. When I click on word icon, document
,and Max/min/close buttons appear.

Suzanne,
I read your post and went to site you recommended, but there are some terms
that I do not undetrstand. I get how to use the run command but then it says
"expand" for several items . How do you expand these items?

Then it also says "if you want to be really, really safe, take a look in
the Registry Help + Help topics and look up “restoring the registry†. I
dont know where to look for this registry help + help topics. I looked under
F1 and got 0 hits. Would you please explain and direct me?

The Run command should be on your START menu. If not, simply type in

Winkey+R

and press return, which will launch the Run dialog.

To expand 'hives' in the Registry, you just click the little triangular
bullet to the left of each heading (exactly as you would expand a message
group in a Newsgroup or forum).

To see Help topics for using the Registry Editor, click on the Help menu in
the editor and choose 'Help Topics'.
