GCK

Hi,

As i know, all the Office application in any version
(from 97 to 2002), the application's Default File
Location was point to C:\ or C:\My Documents.

It is anyway to change the default file location from C:\
or C:\My Documents to other location (e.g. : network
mapped drive, F:\) through network login ?

Either there is the tools or scripts to enable it ?
This mine help alot to the MIS administrator if the
enabling tools or scripts is available, if not, the MIS
administrator have to go round by round to manually
change the default file location.

Please assists !!!

Thanks

Hi C.K.,

The file storage locations accessed through
Word's Tools=>Options=>File Locations are
stored in the registry and can be updated through
a registry change via a script or other means
Detail information on key locations is in the support files of the
Office Resource Kit for the various versions at
http://microsoft.com/office/ork

This article may be helpful to get you started on looking
at the Word 2002 registry locations.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;289294

Word97 defaults internally to using UNC locations.
