To Charles & Suzanne - Numbering Outline

A

Aurora

I am sorry to bother you again, but I feel like I am so close yet so far. I
did follow the Shauna Kelly's instructions. Everything else if great except
that at this point, the first 3 levels of the outline are correct, but the
4th, 5th and 7th are not numbering correctly. They appear to read the
previous level backwards. Ex: Heading 3 reads - 1.3.2 - Heading 4 reads
2.3.1.1.
When I inserted another level 3 to 1.3.3 (after the 1.3.2 and before heading
4) - heading 4 changed to 3.3.1.1

On the side panel, when I bring up styles and formating, I found that if I
put my cursor over each heading style, it gives me the properities of that
heading. Ex: Heading 2, says Heading 2: Heading1 + no caps, indent, left,
ect. I am reading this to say that Heading 2 is following heading 1. If I
am correct, then all of my headings are correct. Heading 4 follows Heading
3, Heading 5 follows heading 4 ect.

Do you have any other ideas as to why my numbering is off???

Sorry, you need to post this as a reply in the original thread. Otherwise we
have no idea what the original question was and what advice has already been
given.

It sounds to me as if you have the levels in the wrong order again. I don't
know why this is, but if I were you, I would remove numbering from all the
styles and start from scratch.
