Hi to all

The really simple things are the hardest!
I have a figure which is in minutes say 10856, and I which to convert it
into days:hrs:min. ie 7 days 12 hrs and 55 mins and 8 sec.
each attempt at the formula has given me fractions of hours, mins etc which
I have to convert back to whole minutes.

Is there a simple way??
any help will be greatly appreicated.

Thanks in advance

Excel stores time as fractions of a day. There are 1440 minutes in a day.

So with your time in A1:

=A1/1440

Format as d:hh:mm := 7:12:56

Or, if you want the text:

Format as d\d h\h m\m

7d 12h 56m

In your example, you give a "seconds" parameter. I don't see how you get that
if your data is in minutes.

Divide by 1440 and use a custom format like d "days" hh:mm:ss

Don't know where you get seconds from 10856 minutes?
