The automation method is new to Visio 2003, but the property exists in Visio
2002 as well. You have to go through the Tools > Options dialog to access
the color settings.

I understand that this method is new, but was there some other way to do it
before with VBA? From shapesheets, cells, etc. ? Or there was no way?
It does not help me being on the dialog, I need the information so I can,
select colors for my drawings accordingly. I do all via automation.
Thanks

This is an application setting, so there is no Shapesheet with cells for
this information. Application settings are persisted in the Registry, so
you can look there for the info. However, Visio reads the Registry when it
is launched and writes to the Registry when it shuts down. If the user
changes the setting in Visio, the value in the Registry will be out of sync
until the session is over. For the same reason, you cannot write a value to
the Registry while Visio is running because Visio will overwrite that value
when it shuts down.
