TOC appearance

Hi,

My document has a TOC that has the following setup for as heading level 1:

Article 1. Introduction

The "Article 1." is in autonumbering. In the body of the document, the
entire heading is in bold, so I have both the heading style, and the
autonumber level 1 set to Bold.

In the TOC, however, I don't want any bolding. So I turned off the bolding
for TOC 1, and that works for the word "Introduction". It does not work for
the autonumber "Article 1.", however. I think because it's bold in the
Bullets and Numbering customization, it comes out bold in the TOC as well.
Is there a way to bold the autonumber in the body of the doc, but not in the
TOC?

Thanks,

The TOC picks up any direct formatting, and presumably it regards the number
formatting as direct. But if your entire heading is bold, it is not
necessary to specifically format the number as bold. Paragraph numbering by
default inherits the formatting of the paragraph it is in, so if your
heading style is bold, the numbering will be bold already. Remove the bold
formatting from the numbering.
