I am attempting to create a master TOC for separate documents (I didn't know how to create a master document prior to doing this project) that compile to a Training Manual. Any help would be appreciated

Debora Jean - try this
In a brand new file (call it MTOC.doc = Master TOC)
type in
{ rd nameofyourdocument.doc
Note that the above filename should be in lowercase and no spaces between words, you can use underscores if you like. Make sure that you have called your files exactly the way you type in the name or this MTOC will not work

If you have any problems with it, try FILE SAVE AS: and renaming your file.

Step to follow
1 - Press CTRL + F9
2 - Locate your file and click on it once and press F2
3 - Press CTRL + C (to copy)
4 - Press CTRL + V (to paste) - within the "{}" brackets. It should read like this: { rd mydoc.doc
5 - Repeat the aboves steps until all of your documents are listed
6 - Generate your TOC as you normally do "Insert Index and Tables" based on Table of Contents - using Headings 1 to 9, and "Table of Figures" and OPTIONS "find the style you applied to tag your Figures and press OK
An easy way to get the file name typed exactly - go to the folder your file is in and click on it once, and press F2 and CTRL + C (to copy), then press CTRL + V to paste. The same goes for your Tables.
