I am doing a simple form of content management using Word. I have
several main documents (software user guides) and several small
subdocuments (appendices that appear in every guide). I want to
include the small subdocuments in the main documents. I am using the
INCLUDETEXT field to automatically insert the text from the
subdocuments into the main documents.
Everything is working fine except for one thing: the individual
entries in the TOC for the sections in the subdocuments (appendices)
are not acting as hyperlinks. (Yes, I am using the "\h" switch in the
{ TOC } field code.) When I click on a heading in the TOC for a
section in the main document, Word brings up that portion of the
document. When I click on a heading in the TOC for a section in the
subdocument, Word brings me to the beginning of the document.
Is there some way to fix this behavior so that all of the TOC entries
are hyperlinks? --Without manually inserting the hyperlinks myself,
that is...
I am using Word 2002.
