TOC Page Numbers Change

I created a TOC in a document using the Insert/Reference/Index & Tables
method. The TOC has page numbers and hyperlinks. They both work fine on my
computer. However, when I send the document to anyone else, all of the page
numbers change....mostly to 1 and 2. Anyone know why this would be happening?
Thanks!

This is usually the result of opening the document (from an attachment) in
Reading Layout view (Full Screen Reading view in Word 2007). There is
nothing you can do on your end to change this; you can only make
suggestions:

1. You can suggest that the recipient save the document to the hard drive
before opening it instead of opening the attachment directly. Because
Reading view is used only for attachments, this will force the document to
open in the view in which you saved it.

2. If the recipient is unwilling to do this, you can suggest that the
recipient disable Reading Layout view (Tools | Options | General: Allow
starting in Reading Layout) or Full Screen Reading view (Office Button |
Word Options | Popular: Open e-mail attachments in Full Screen Reading
view).

3. If the recipient is unwilling to do either of the above, you can suggest
that, after switching to another view, he select the TOC and press F9 to
update it. This will correct the page numbers.

Thanks, I had a feeling her default Reading Layout view had something to do
with it (which is a totally ridiculous default on Microsoft's part!). I did
change her default to Print Layout and re-sent it to her, and it still had
the same problem. But I think it might have just been picking up the temp
file stored in the Outlook OLK folder...so going to try again today.

Thanks again!

I'm not clear what change you have made on the recipient's machine. If she
is still opening the attachment directly and you have not disabled Reading
Layout view in Tools | Options | General, then she is still going to get
that view.
