TOC Update in Template

I'm trying to build a template in word 2003.

I have a Table of Contents set up, but every time I press to Update entire
TOC it brings the contents of the next page up onto the table of contents
page.

I have tried a page break, a section break to new page but nothing seems to
work.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to have to go in and fix
everyone elses documents that they create from my template! It kinda defeats
the purpose.

It sounds like you may have added your page break in the TOC field. Place
your insertion point in the first paragraph on the page following the TOC
and in the Paragraph dialog box, on the Line and Page Breaks tab, select
"Page Break Before". Then update your TOC and see if that works.
