Today screen not showing

I can't get the Today screen to come up. I recently wiped my hard drive and
reinstalled Windows XP and Office 2007. I had made a backup of my Outlook PST
files and reimported everything. If I click on the Today icon, it doesn't do
anything.

Also, is there anyway to make it default to my IMAP email account? I
currently have email from an old account that I want to keep but no longer
have an active account associated with it. AFAIK, there is no way to get ride
of the mail without deleting it. I'd just like to have it available if needed
but not necessarily view it all the time. Somehow I had it setup like that in
a previous installation.

I forgot to mention that I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling just
Outlook but it made no difference. I did not delete my PST file though so it
just automatically defaulted to this upon reinstallation. Maybe I need to
have it create a new PST file and reimport everything.
