too many different format in excel workbook, error message

I am trying to open an excel workbook which has 4 worksheet, i get this
error nessage : " Too many different format "
It does not open up the work sheet. Please help

thats the exact error, word for word? Please type it in exactly as it shows
up.

Please check http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;213904.
If you are unable to open workbook, try to open it in excel safe mode by
clicking START --> RUN --> EXCEL /S (space between excel and /s)

The word for word is " Too many different cell formats" .
After few attempts, another windows opened up saying word to word
" Errors were detected in 'File name' but Microsoft ?Office Excel was able
to open the file by making the repairs listed below. Save the file to make
these repairs permanant."

"Damage to the file was so extensive that repairs were not possible. Ecell
attempted to recover your formulas and values, but some data may have been
lost or corrupted.

File showed up with any formatting
