I am working with ~100 page documents. In these documents, I can not take
existing text with embedded links (linked to an Excel spreadsheet) and
re-paste them into the same document. Also, I can not take text with existing
links from another document and paste it into one of mine. When I try to do
this, I get the message "There are too many edits in the document. This
operation will be incomplete. Save your work."
I have called the Microsoft support line several times and spent time on the
troubleshooting web page with few results. The first solution offered is to
defrag, which I have done.
The model I use changes several times a year. So, when we write a new
document I use the last report that we submitted, which over time gets used
extensively. Depending on the report, the file size can reach 5.0 to 10.0 MB
(including embedded pictures).
I have moved the files to different machines, with no result. I have over 20
gigs of free space on the drive where my temp files are located. I have tried
copying and pasting everything but the ending paragraph mark into a new file,
with no result.
I would appreciate any advice that you guys can offer.
