Too many styles

B

Beth

I have just been migrated to XP from NT.

A document that I work with regularly has about 10 styles
set up in it depending on whether I want a bullet point,
heading etc.

Sometimes a will use a particulat style and then tweak it
manually e.g. condensing the font slightly so it fits
where I want it or boldening a word etc

Now that I'm using XP every tiny change I make to to any
text now appears as a new style in my style drop down
list and it's getting very confusing as I have about 30
styles now!!

Is there some auto thing that I can switch off or am I
going about tweaking my styles in the wrong manner?

These are not styles but "formatting." On the Edit tab of Tools | Options,
clear the check box for "Keep track of formatting."
