Tool bars

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel My Standard toolbar will not show despite being checked in the View, Toolbar option. I have to uncheck it, then check it again to get it to show up each time I open a new document. Have tried to find a preference or something else that is not set properly, but cannot seem to correct this problem. Thank you

You can't find anything in Word because it's a "feature" of OS X Even
though it is poorly documented & not at all identified it has been addressed
in these Forums dozens of times: Click the capsular button at the right end
of a document window's title bar to turn off the 'Minimize Drawer' feature.

Amazing--that has driven me crazy. Am sorry that I didn't find it--I did try searching the forum before posting.
