Toolbar Bullets crashes Word

User has Word 2002 SP2.

On a new blank document the user clicks the Bullets toolbar icon and Word
immediately crashes. If she selects text then uses Formatting|Bullets and
Numbering it works OK. The next blank document she tries to use the Bullets
icon, Word crashes. Renaming normal.dot had no effect, she still crashes.

Did SP2 have a known problem with this? I may be able to get SP3 loaded,
especially if it will fix the problem. Thank you.

Check that you have the latest printer driver available and then delete and
reinstall the printer.

Chances are you need to delete a corrupt Registry key.

Exit Word in the Registry drill down to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Word\List Gallery
Presets

And delete the List Gallery Presets key. This key will be recreated
upon restarting Word.

As always, prior to making any changes to the Registry you should
review "Backing up the Registry" and "Restoring the Registry" in the
Registry Help.

In this situation you may also want to use the Registry/Export
Registry file command and export your selected branch. That way if you
find the change wasn't necessary or incorrect you can merge the
deleted branch back to the Registry by double-clicking the resulting
file.

Thanks too for that suggestion. I am waiting to hear from the tech who
visits on-site to see if either or both of these suggestions work.
