Toolbar buttons lost high color

Stefan

I have Microsoft Office 2003. My toolbars in all Office apps have
reverted to the old style icons. Also, in general, the entire "look" of
Outlook has reverted away from the "high color" theme that one would expect
to see in Office 2003. (Although the layout has remained unchanged.)

I have run updates, done a detect and repair and finally completely
uninstalled *all* MS Office products and performed a new
Office installation. But I'm still stuck with the "old" style icons.

Not a show stopper, but naggingly annoying none the less.

Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Stefan,

Have you recently installed any new software or utilities, or used remote access help? If so, what was installed please?

There are a couple of things you can check in the Windows control panel.

A. Display: Color settings should be set higher than '256'.
Check to see what Theme settings you have.

B. Accessibility: Display High Contrast should be unchecked.

C. System: Hardware=>Device Manager:
Display Driver - If SMS Remote Control Agent is present
disable it then restart your PC.

tahnks for your quick answer!

it is a notebook (Dell Latitude D620) on a dockingstation with an external
display.
The user use the external display as primary screen and the notebook as an
expended display.

after he open the notebook, the theme changes in the whole office to lower
color...
if he close the notebook the theme will be normaly (theme of office 2003)!

kind regards
