I'd like to add the "cut" and "paste" buttons as well as a "small caps" button to my formatting toolbar but can't figure out how to do it.I don't want to use the formatting palette because of the space it takes up.

Any ideas? I've been all over the help section and can't figure it out.

Right-click the toolbar, then choose Customize Toolbars and Menus from the
contextual menu. Switch to the Commands tab, then drag the desired commands
from that list to the spot where you want them to appear on the toolbar.

Is there anyway to customize the icons? In Windows you can actually edit
the Icon associated with a command.

No, that was removed from Mac Office so long ago that I honestly can't
remember whether it was actually ever included :) In fact, Win Office 2007
has done away with it also since it no longer offers toolbars or toolbar
customization (other than adding/removing buttons on the QAT).

However, if you have access to icon files you can copy them then go into
Word's Customize... Dialog, Control/Right-Click a toolbar button & select
the Paste Button Image command. Note that the Toolbar must be "floating"
rather than Docked in order to do so & there may be some buttons that won't
permit having their icons changed.

BTW: In the future it would be to your advantage to not REPLY to archaic
archived posts even if the subject seems somewhat related. Post a NEW
Message & always specify your exact version & update level of the software.
