toolbar & dropdown menus are not visible

I was wondering if anybody could help me with the
following problem: My Word program was working fine until
about a year ago when I was working on a project for
school. For this particular project I had to paste a few
scanned photos along with my text. Nothing out of the
ordinary. However, after that project, Word hasn't been
the same. I can no longer see any toolbar or dropdown
menus; all I see is the ruler where you adjust your
margins and the text area. I am able to type text in
there, and can use keyboard commands to do things like
save (shift + F12) but the toolbars and dropdown menus are
nowhere to be found. I've asked some of my friends for
help, but no one has ever encountered anything like this
before. So if anyone out there has any possible solutions,
please repond! Thanks!

This is due to just a little corruption in the Registry. This article
