toolbar highlighting, fonts, color vanished. Need them back. How?

While working on a document in MS Word 2000, the screen suddenly flickered
and when it quit flickering, the highlighting, fonts, font colors and other
items had disappeared from my toolbar. I have searched on everything
searchable and/or clickable and cannot find a way to get them back. How do I
get them back?? HELP!!

I am able to access fonts/size/color with ctrl/D (which is a pain but better
than nothing), but can't find highlighting at all. I'd like them all back on
my tool bar.
