Toolbar wont stay put

I have a user in the office who has learned how to create hyperlinks between
docs. The thing is, when he opens doc B via the link in doc A, his Web
toolbar also opens in floating position. I have tried everything I know of
to make this stay docked or closed, but it still opens in the middle of his
screen. Can anyone tell me what I missed?

Hi Monica,

If you simply want the web toolbar to stay docked:
Dock it, then open the VBA editor (Alt+F11), the immediate window (Ctrl+G),
and type or paste

CommandBars("Web").Protection=msoBarNoChangeDock

Hit the Return key at the end of the line, and the tollbar should stay put.

The "x" button for closing the toolbar will be gone. But you can
right-click on the toolbar to remove it (... uncheck "Web").

For how to keep the toolbar from popping up altogether, see

Greetings,

Thank you Klaus. My concern is two-fold.
1) If my desktop copy of Word recals my docking of the toolbar, and my
user - although in a differnt state - has the same ghost image of office I
have, why doesn't HIS behave the same?
2) He's not fluent in VBA and has no patience to be on the phone be walked
through the steps.
Ugh.

Thanx anyway!
