toolbar won't work

In Office 2000 for my Mac.
The toolbar in Word will not work:ie. no FILE,VIEW, etc.
It started this yesterday.
I can open a new document, but unable to save, or even Quit
using the toolbar!
Any thoughts? I reloaded the program with the same
results.

I just developed the same problem in Mac Word 2001. Can't open a blank
document either. I can Quit the application, but it's very labored when it
first opens up. Is this a virus or a worm? Any help out there would be
much appreciated. Thanks.
