Toolbars are all hidden for only one User

I have Word2k on a Win2k machine and one user signs in all he sees in word is
the ruler and no menu bar or toolbars can be added. When I login as
administrator everything works fine for me. I have deleted his Normal.dot
and replaced it with mine but still nothing. If he opens an existing
document it says winword.exe has failed and is shutting down however I can
open the files with no problems. Any virus or trojan information on this?
Is there any keyboard command that I am not aware of because ALT or CTRL
combinations do not work.

It isn't a virus, it's a damaged registry entry. Because it's in the
HKEY_CURRENT_USER hive, there's a separate copy for each user on the
machine, and only one copy is damaged.

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissingMenusEtc.htm for instructions
to fix it.
