toolbars cover top of document

instead of the document aligning under the toolbars, the document always ends up "under" them so closing or minimizing is impossible unless i stretch out the bottom of the document so that the top of the doc shows and then I can "pull it down" low enough to get at the colored dots (red yellow green), on the top left to be accessible. it happens in XLS and PPT, too.

have tried lots of fixes, like closing all of the toolbars and then selecting again and shutting down the program and restarting the machine. UGH. please help

OK, I've had the same problem and here's a workaround. Under the Window menu choose "Arrange all." That'll tile all the open windows and you'll be able to access the the top of the document. Of course, if you've got four or five documents open, as I always do, you end up having to resize and rearrange all the windows to keep working. On the bright side, unless your problem is worse than mine ever was, once you've resaved the document in a new position, it'll open correctly next time.

Your toolbars have become "undocked".

1) Drag them down the screen to give yourself some space to work.

2) Slowly drag the top one back up (very slowly...) until it "clicks" into
place.

3) Do the same for the lower one.

Once they click into place (are "Docked") the document will slide down below
them and you won't get the problem again.

Cheers
