Toolbars disappeared from top of document???

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Just recently when I open Microsoft word a blank document opens up but my standard and formatting toolbars are no longer showing on the top of the document. It's just basically the toolbar and elements gallery row.
The only way I can get it to come back is by going into View-toolbars-and deselecting then go back in and reselect one of them.
Any ideas as to how to get my settings back to normal?
Thanks!

Click the oval button at the right end of a document window to turn off
Apple's poorly documented & unidentified 'minimize toolbar area' feature.

To get your solutions much more quickly, take a moment to search the
existing messages using the Search box in the upper left part of the Forums
web page. Had you done so you would have found that this specific issue has
been addressed dozens of times, so you could have had your answer in minutes
rather than hours :)
