Toolbars float with each document

I am an old hand at Visio, but new to the 2003 upgrade. I have noticed
that, though toolbars are extremely customizable in this version, as
in prior versions of Visio, toolbars in this version move all over the
place.

It seems as though each document has a different arrangement of
toolbars which relates to it. Is there anyway to turn off or override
this feature? Particularly, there are multiple versions of my custom
toolbar items appearing again and again for me as I open documents.
It's truly annoying in that multiple references show up in the menu I
use to show/hide each menu element.

help?

thanks in advance,

jason

This sounds like the reverse of (or maybe a variation of) the same
problem posted by Darren, 'Toolbar "Locking"' and myself,
I'm having the same problem. Moreover, additions and deletions of
buttons also don't "stick." Why bother customizing toolbars if you have
to rebuild them every time? Surely Microsoft would have addressed this
problem. Can anyone shed some light on this?
(BTW I'm using Visio Professional 2002 SR-1 (10.0.2514)

Help on this vexing behavior would be sincerely appreciated!

Hi Jason,

Please try the following steps to re-register VIsio 2003:

1. Click Start, Run and then type: visio /r.
2. Click OK.
3. This would re-register Visio 2003. This could resolve the issue with the
customized tool bars options.

If the issue persists, then let me know if you have any adobe add-ons in
Visio.

Best Regards,
Arun Kumar K.
