Toolbars in powerpoint will not dock

I have selected a few standard .ppt toolbars to dock when I open powerpoint. And they just won't.
What I have to do when I open every document is select View>toolbars - and then a sub-portion of the toolbars appear. Then I have to select the ">>" to see all the options - they don't paint horizontally automatically. I have to select one of the option on the toolbar in order for it to paint horizontally.

What a pain.

How do I get the toolbars I want to view to open automatically when I open each .ppt document.

For any toolbars that are docked, the width of the bar is dictated by the
width of the window. Widen the window & the bars will expand. The window
width on open is dependent on what it was when the file was last edited &
saved.

FWIW, if you want the bars to remain fully extended regardless of window
width don't dock the bars in the window. Instead, dock them at the top of
the screen at the bottom edge of the Menu Bar.
