toolbars not displayed

Hi,

have a PC here with Word 2000 installed. Somehow the
toolbars (all of them) have been "turned off" so all that
opens is a blank screen with no options at all.. i ahve
tried renaming normal.dot and also alt/V to bring bck the
toolbars, both without success. I have also carried out
a "repair" installation but have still made no progress.

OS is Windows ME if that is relevant.

Any help appreciated.
