Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Hello,

I've looked around, but I can't seem to find the answer to this seemingly very simple question. In Office/Word 2008 for Mac, is it possible to get the 'Standard' and 'Formatting' toolbars to show up on just one row, i.e. on the same row, together, side by side (as it used to be in Word on a PC, for example)?

Thanks for any help anyone might be able to give.

Regards,

Stephen

No.

Because the Standard and Formatting toolbars are not real toolbars, they are
part of the Word Window.

What you can do is customise the Standard toolbar so it contains the bits
you want from the formatting toolbar. You may need to remove some of the
junk from the Standard toolbar to make room.

Cheers

Hi Stephen,

You can accomplish this by using View > Customize Menus and Toolbars.
Click the New button to create blank toolbar stub (it's small - so look
for it closely). Then click the Commands tab and drag all the commands
you want to the stub. When you click OK and close the Customize Menus
and Toolbars dialog you can resize your toolbar to be the two rows you
desire.

Quit Word and your toolbar should be available the next time you use
Word (unless you switched the Toolbar's location from Normal in the
Customize Menus and Toolabrs dialog box).

Hello John and Jim,

Thanks for your replies. I was sure that there was something I was missing, but it appears that this was not the case.

Once again, thanks for your helpful hints.

Stephen
