Tools in menubar now showing Fonts

I am using Office/Word X for Mac. I tried the Office 2004 test drive for a
month, then deleted it. But now the Tools pulldown menu shows Fonts [the
Fonts menu shows the same]. I re-ran the 10.1.5 Update from Sept. 03 to
see if that would fix, and it didn't. Can I fix this problem short of a reinstall?

The Word Preferences may have become corrupted in the transfer.

The usual FastFix for the loss of the Word MenusŠ

Close all open applications. Open these folders: Hard Disc>System
Folder>Preferences Folder>Microsoft Folder. Select Word Settings (9) file
and trash it. Then shut down the computer. When you restart, the Microsoft
Application will create a new Word Settings file and your menus will be
restored to their original default settings. This means that any special
preferences that you had created that differed from the default will have to
be re-selected by you, so it would help if you either wrote down your
particular special preferences settings or memorized them. This procedure
may have to be applied once or twice a year as the Word menus have a bug
that makes them either disappear sometimes or they just go crazy.

If this FastFix does not work, then go to

Since you're in Word X, indago's advice isn't going to help much :). To
test your Word X preferences, see here:
<http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/DamagedPrefs.htm>

To test your Normal Template (which may also be worth trying), see here:
<http://word.mvps.org/MacWordNew/MacWordNormal.htm>

But before doing either of the above, go to Tools> Customize. On the
Toolbars tab, be sure Main Menu is selected and click Reset.
