The multiplication of Mail Merge menu entries is caused by the Microsoft
Works Suite Add-in for Word. If you are using Word freestanding (not
starting it from the Works Task Launcher) and have no expectation of using a
Works database or address book as a data source for a Word mail merge, then
you should uninstall the add-in, as this is only one of many problems it
causes in Word. Uninstall it through Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
(this does not uninstall Works Suite or Word, just the troublesome add-in).
Then restart Word, open Tools | Customize, and drag all but one of the Mail
Merge items from the menu.
